Otago offers a range of courses, from entrepreneurship to marine science. Each course included amazing field trips that take advantage of Otago's perfect location.

The Summer in New Zealand program will take place over 3 weeks this summer. Enroll in 1-2 courses at the oldest university in New Zealand, the University of Otago, an institution well recognized for the quality of its research and teaching. You can enroll in 4-8 US credits during the program, and you will be free to choose subjects from an array of disciplines. The majority of the courses offered are in the following academic areas: Art History, Business and Economics, Geography, Maori Studies, Modern Languages, and Sciences.You can access the course catalog here.

When you land in New Zealand, we want you to live like a Kiwi and hit the ground running. As soon as you land you may choose to be a part of an international student program on campus that pairs you with a local student as you adjust to life and travel in New Zealand.
There are plenty of activities and clubs to join. Enjoy something you love doing or try something new! Many student have enjoyed hiking, tennis, basketball, card games and more. “Open Mic” nights and other exciting campus activities are awaiting you at the University of Otago.
Program dates for Summer 2018 are June 22nd - July 14th.

As a Summer in New Zealand student your accommodation will be self-catered at the Otago University Flats.
The university flats are located within a few minutes walking distance from the University of Otago campus and only 10 minutes from the main city shopping center. Each of the flats is furnished, includes a basic kitchen set up to prepare your meals, and all of the bedrooms contain a double bed with mattress, a desk, chair, and drawers. Students who live in these off-campus flats will have the opportunity to live with Kiwis and can immerse themselves in and learn more about the Kiwi culture.
Application Requirements and Deadlines:
Applicants must have at least a sophomore standing.
Applicants to this program have 2 applications to complete: Valpo and CISabroad.

If needed, students are able to work with financial aid to help with the cost of the program. Scholarships are also available.
Students will be responsible for purchasing their own airfare. Flights will be discussed at length during orientation.
The estimate for spending money will vary greatly depending on personal spending habits. Personal expenses include personal items, additional personal travel, meals, shopping, and other activities. Students should consider their individual spending habits when estimating their personal expenses for the program.
